All parents, students and community members are invited to our May School Site Council meeting. We will be discussing the site plan and budget priorities for next school year and would love your input! Hope to see you on May 7th at 2:50pm in the library.
Over the next few weeks SUHSD will be hosting five community meetings to discuss our district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). As you might recall a few years ago we did very similar meetings and they were a great success.
Chula Vista High will be represented at the Trustee Area 1 meeting on Wednesday, April 24th, from 6:00-8:00pm. This meeting will take place in the new GYM at Sweetwater High School at 2900 Highland Ave, National City. We are hoping parents, students and staff attend to ensure the “Spartan Voice” is heard in the discussion about the District’s Priorities.

Next Saturday, April 27th, from 7:30am -12:00pm, SUHSD is hosting a Parent Symposium. It will be held at Montgomery High School at 3250 Palm Ave, San Diego.
This event will offer a free breakfast, UCLA lecturer and researcher Dr. Noguera as keynote speaker, workshops for students and parents, college and community fair, entertainment and giveaways for parents at the end of the event.
Parents are highly encouraged to bring their middle and high school students. Additionally, we have secured child care from the Boys and Girls Club for children.

This coming Tuesday at 2:50pm, we will be having our monthly School Site Council meeting in the library. Meetings are open to the community and the agenda is below.
Please join us at our English Learner Advisory Committee meeting this coming Tuesday. We will be reviewing our English Learner Program and obtaining feedback for next school year. We will be meeting in the Learning Lab. Hope to see you there!
CVHS is proud to present our popular Parent Series again this Spring. The workshop series will begin this Thursday, April 11th, from 5:30-7:30pm in the Learning Lab. The dates and topics of the series are:
- April 11: The Power of Education
- April 18: Toxic Parents/ Toxic Children
- April 25: The Truth About Drugs
- *May 9: Internet Dangers
- May 16: Graduation Celebration, Certificates of Completion will be distributed.
*No class May 2nd.
The workshops will be presented in Spanish with English translation. Childcare will be provided.

We hope all parents of 10th graders can join us on Wednesday, March 20th, from 7:45-12:00pm to learn more about your student’s classes, their recent PSAT results and a glimpse of what is to come in 11th grade. We will be serving a baked potato bar for lunch for all participants! Please join us in the Learning Lab!
During the week of March 11-14th, CVHS will be holding our Junior Portfolio Nights. Our juniors have been working hard to produce a collection of work that will be sure to impress parents and families! Please see the schedule below to ensure you attend with your student on the right day and time. All presentations will take place in the Learning Lab. See you then!
