Senior Pictures!

 

Seniors! It’s that time of year to take your senior picture. This is the portrait that will be used in the yearbook. Please read this message in entirety for all the information regarding the process.

Senior Portraits are taking place at the Prestige Studio in El Cajon on August 15-23. Please schedule your appointment ASAP because there is limited availability and the yearbook staff has a deadline to meet.

 

To schedule your appointment, follow the steps below:

  • Go to www.prestigeportraits.com

    • Click on ‘find a studio near you’
    • Scroll down to ‘El Cajon’
    • Click on ‘schedule studio session’
    • Create an account
    • Schedule appointment

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

*Check your schedule BEFORE booking. The appointment times are from 10:00 am-6:00 pm. This could conflict with your A day/B day’s, sports schedules, assemblies, rehearsals etc. It will be very difficult to reschedule your appointment once you have confirmed.

*Don’t forget to look your best!

All Seniors will be photographed in the traditional formal pose with tuxedo top or drape. These will be provided at your session. When booking your appointment, you may upgrade your package to include different backgrounds, outfit changes, or cap and gown poses.

*The price you pay is for the SITTING FEE only. This price is for your photo session, it does not include any printed photos. Prestige will send pricing and package information after you get your proofs.

*You must be photographed with Prestige Portraits in order for your photo to be in the yearbook.

Schedule Change Requests

Spartans, counselors are posting the SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUEST FORMS to their Google Classroom and will be open for request until Tuesday after school.

If you would like to have your schedule change request CONSIDERED, please fill out this form.

 

(Please know that it will take your counselors 2-3 days to evaluate and consider your request. Your counselor will respond by either email, Jupiter, calling you out of class, or by sending you your new schedule during school hours)

 

Remember NO SCHEDULE CHANGES IF:

*You want to change to a different teacher
*You want to change your class to a different period
*You want to be in a class with your friends
*You do not understand the teacher

 

Please be mindful of your counselor’s time and know that we are doing our best to get to each and every student request and will take time.

Upcoming Gear Days/Orientation

Good morning CVHS Students and Parents/Guardians of CVHS Students,

We are very excited for the 2022-2023 school year to begin. We are including some very important information in this email regarding Gear Days/Orientation.

Gear Days will take place on Wednesday, July 13th (for Freshmen 8am-10:30am and Sophomores 10:30am-1pm) and Thursday, July 14th for (Seniors 8am-10:30am and Juniors 10:30am-1pm). Gear Days begin at 8am and conclude at 1pm.

A flyer with more specific details will be sent in the next couple of days. There is an Orientation for Freshmen and students new to Chula Vista of all grades on Wednesday, July 13th from 8am-8:30am. ALL freshmen and students new to Chula Vista are encouraged to attend as this is a great introduction to our high school. Parents can attend if they chose to, otherwise they can purchase gear during orientation.
To enter campus for Gear Day we ask that all students go through the K Street parking lot (between 4th and 5th) and enter the gate closest to the PAC (there will be signs). Parents/Students are allowed to park in the K Street parking lot on Gear Days. There will be a table set up outside the PAC with locator cards. EVERYONE will stop at this station first. You will then proceed to one of the other stations or if you are a freshmen or new student to CVHS, you will proceed directly to the gym. This year, we are asking that EVERY STUDENT attend Gear Day to take their school pictures/get their IDs, locator cards, and for 9th graders their electronic devices, and purchase gear and class packages from ASB in Room 1502, CASH ONLY. (WE WILL SEND THE PRICE LIST IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS).

 

Student ID’s
EVERY STUDENT NEEDS TO GET THEIR ID ON THE 13TH OR 14TH. THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT WAIT TIME (UP TO THREE MONTHS) UNTIL WE GET THE MACHINE TO MAKE ID’S ON CAMPUS. MANY STUDENTS NEED THESE ID’S FOR BUSINESS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL. PLEASE MAKE IT A PRIORITY TO GET YOUR ID ON THE 13TH OR 14TH WHEN YOU ARE SCHEDULED. SENIORS WILL ALSO NEED TO GET THEIR ID’S ON THE 14TH.

If you have books to return from the previous school year(s) please bring them on Gear Day! All individual items as well as packages for purchase on Gear Day are offered at a discounted price. After the 14th, all items will return to regular price. After Gear Day, all components of the packages will be available as individual items for purchase at regular price. All sales are final and there are no refunds. We STRONGLY encourage seniors to purchase a package if they plan to attend prom and want a yearbook as this is the only time it will be offered at a significant discount. Senior year gets very expensive and this is one way to save!

9th grade students (laptop/electronic devices)
Students will not be able to check out a laptop until they have completed the technology use agreement, which is part of OLR (Online Registration). If you are unsure if you have completed OLR, please call 619-476-3300 or stop by the main office. Extra forms will be available on Gear Day.

For Seniors, this is NOT your Senior picture. You will be receiving an ID picture only. The picture taken on Gear Day is NOT for the yearbook! Lifetouch/Prestige will contact you directly to schedule your Senior pictures.
