This information is coming to you on behalf of the Society of Women Engineers and Women in Computing at UC San Diego. The organization hopes to recruit more high school girls in grades 9-12, who are interested in pursuing an engineering degree. The program is called EDGE, Empowerment and Development for Girls in Engineering. It is a year-long program. Our mission is to encourage more high school girls to consider STEM-related careers to bridge the gender gap in engineering fields. This program will provide opportunities to network with women in engineering and computer science fields at UCSD, as well as provide various workshops and events to foster interest in a wide variety of STEM fields. This is the fifth year of this program. Please see the attached is the flyer.
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are now open, and students may apply by using the QR code on the flyer. The application deadline is September 29, 2024, at 11:59 pm.
We will have 2 info sessions for students, parents, teachers, and administrators to attend to answer any questions about the EDGE program and the application.
