You will only need to file with the NCAA Clearinghouse if you will be participating in a Division I or Division II NCAA Sanctioned Sport.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is the governing body of just about all College Sports.
Student Athletes who want to compete at Collegiate level must submit a form with the NCAA clearinghouse. This form can be obtained from your school’s counseling office. You must register and you must qualify, if you don’t you will not be eligible to play or practice during your college freshman year. International students can Email me for free advice on how to register. Registration with the NCAA clearinghouse is a one-time fee of $65 US.
Students must graduate from High School and have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 in a core curriculum of thirteen academic subjects.
You must also achieve a minimum score on your ACT and SAT. This is between 37 and 86 on the ACT and between 820 and 1010 on the SAT.
When Should Students Register?
Students may register at any time, but the NCAA recommends they register by their Junior year. The Eligibility Center will evaluate a student’s academic credentials once the following information has been received, and the student has had their status requested by an NCAA member institution:
- Complete online registration
- Pay $65 Fee
- SAT or ACT test score on file from the respective testing agency
- Transcript(s) from all schools or programs attended
